Principle of single screw extruder single screw is generally divided into three sections in effective length. The effective length of three sections is determined according to screw diameter, pitch and screw depth, which is generally divided into one third each.
The last thread of the material port is called the conveying section: the material here should not be plasticized, but should be preheated and compacted under pressure. In the past, the old extrusion theory thought that the material here was loose. Later, it was proved that the movement of the material here was similar to that of a solid piston, so as long as the conveying task was completed, it was its function.
The second section is called compression section. At this time, the volume of screw groove will gradually decrease from large to small, and the temperature will reach the degree of material plasticization. The compression will be produced here, which is called the compression ratio of screw - 3:1. Some machines also have changes, and the plasticized material will enter the third section.
The third section is the metering section, where the material maintains the plasticizing temperature, just like the metering pump to accurately and quantitatively transport the melt material to the machine head. At this time, the temperature should not be lower than the plasticizing temperature, generally slightly higher.
